For as long as he can remember he has been extremely passionate about music. In 1996, his breakthrough hit “Time to Say Goodbye” which was written by the blind artist for boxing champion Henry Maske, made him a world famous star. The Italian tenor sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and belongs to one of the most successful Italian singers of all time. Céline Dion once said: “If God had a voice, he would sound like Andrea Bocelli.” His exceptional and significant voice and his tremendous success earned him multiple awards such as seven ECHO’s, four BRIT Awards, a Golden Globe, three World Music Awards and even an Oscar nomination. He set a record for the Guinness Book of Records in the year 2000 for simultaneously being in the number one, two and three spots of the American charts. In 2010 he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Bocelli, who studied law, first started singing pop music. Later in his career, he focused more on classical music including opera.
