Anna Netrebko

Russian opera singer Anna Netrebko started her career after her vocal training at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and after she won first prize in Moscow’s National Glinka Competition at the age of 22. Her incredibly fast career started after the appearance of the Mariinski-Theatre in San Francisco, which caught a lot of attention and received spectacular reviews and lead to engagements at the most famous Opera houses all over the world. Her debut at the Bavarian State Opera prompted one critic to write: „There is none lovelier, none who sings more excitingly, none more charming – there were cheers, madness, and cries of ‚the new Callas’.“

TUI Cruises

A significant voice for a significant ship – Anna Netrebko exclusively recorded the anthem „Ocean of Love“ for the „MS Mein Schiff“. Especially composed for TUI Cruises, the anthem is the first non-classical composition for the Opera star. Now she enriches the hymn of „Mein Schiff“ with her distinctive voice and Russian soul. The former 37-year-old singer, who so far focused on classical compositions from past eras, said, „it is a true joy and challenge to sing this anthem because it combines elements from classical music and  modern pop so well“. Composed by Frank Nimsgern, „Ocean of Love“ was recorded at the world renowned Angel Record Studios under the direction of Peter Christian Feigel. The classic label „Deutsche Grammophon“ released an already existing album as a special adition for the first time. So, the anthem of the ship „Ocean of Love“ was added to the album „Souvenirs“ and introduced as a special edition at the ship’s christening.
