Ben Becker

His path was actually predetermined: his step father Otto Sander was a gifted actor and a concise role model, his grandmother was a comedian, his grandfather was a dancer and his uncle was an acrobat – in fact Ben Becker could only choose an artistic profession. And he turned into a successful multi talent: he is a film and TV actor, star of the big screen, stage actor, voice actor for international movie productions, he does voice over work for audio books like for Muhammad Ali, he is a musician with his Zero Tolerance Band and in cooperation with Xavier Naidoo, Udo Lindenberg and Peter Maffay for Tabaluga and a children’s book author.

He was awarded numerous times for his outstanding acting performances. Awards include silver and (three years later) gold in the Adolf-Grimme Prize, the Golden Camera, the Bavarian Film Prize and the Golden Curtain for his legendary performance with rave reviews in “Berlin, Alexanderplatz” at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. He fascinates the German audience since 2015 with his role as Judas Ischariot in „Ich Judas“.

The Bible with Thalia

A SPOKEN SYMPHONY.

In 2007 Ben Becker’s versatile very successful productions reached a high point. With theatrical discipline and the need for something demanding Ben Becker fulfilled a long lasting desire by creating a breath taking three hour performance of the book of books – The Bible. His Zero Tolerance Band, the German Cinema Orchestra Babelsberg and a gospel choir accompanied him.

With his deep voice and a combination of own compositions, pop, gospel and rock influences he gives the selected texts of the Old and New Testaments new meaning. The Bible tour in 2008 stopped in eleven mayor cities in Germany and fascinated more than 70,000 fans. The audio book and DVD of the show were elected “Favorite Book of Austria” and “Best Audio Book” in 2008. Due to the great success the tour was extended in January 2010. A total of 120,000 people in Germany and Austria experienced the show. Thalia, a German book retailer, presented the show through the eleven German cities and included the Bible tour in all communication measures and raffled tickets. Prior to the main tour Thalia organized exclusive readings of Ben Becker in several Thalia stores all over Germany. Special highlights were Meet & Greets with Ben Becker for Thalia.Thalia was present at the concert halls with roll-ups, banners and press walls. They completed the involvement with advertising and information booths in every venue. There was a special dedication to the charity organization „Die Arche“.
