Opel Project Earth

Project Earth enabled young scientists to visualize the biggest threat for nature – the impact of climate change. The Project Earth Expedition visited and explored four endangered ecosystems, which are particularly important for the world′s climate as the arctic, the ocean, the rainforest and the savanna. In cooperation with NGO’s such as the WWF Arctic Program, the Jane Goodall Institute, The Cousteau Society and the Rainforest Foundation US the first expedition took place in July/August 2011, and explored a national park in Africa, the Arctic, the Gulf of Mexico and the rainforest in Panama. Celebrities such as Apollo 11 astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin and pop star Katie Melua supported Project Earth, introduced the project to the public and personally supported the expedition.
